Success belongs to those who dare to try, if you’re not trying something different you will always see the same results. What if you are looking to launch something that will literally take everything out of you? Financially, physically and emotionally you need to be all in. If it scares you, should you still go for it? Without a shadow of a doubt! Due diligence must be done before undergoing any financial transaction but all successful people have been fearless in their pursuit of achieving something great. We need to adopt this trait and put our heart and soul into our project to see results.

“Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle”.

Napoleon Hill

Today, there are millions of Entrepreneurs, Athletes, Corporates and Scholars  that are hugely successful, be it in terms of wealth, happiness, health and their impact on a huge number of people. Wouldn’t you love it if this was you? Well they all have one thing in common, they are not afraid. They are not afraid of sacrifice, if they need to stay up 3 nights in a row to complete a project they will do it. They are not afraid of risk, if they need to risk a great deal they will take a calculated risk and go for it. Every great success starts with desire and then the courage to carry out that task.

When people think of others that are successful, a closed mind will always think that they got ‘lucky’. The word luck gets thrown about a lot when talking about successes, whether it’s on a sports field, with a stock trade or starting a profitable company. However, the people in these so called ‘lucky’ situations had the courage to go out and try. When you try and fail at something you are not so ‘lucky’, but when you try and succeed you’re ‘lucky’ right? That is not the way it works, you need to allow opportunities to reach you and that only happens by going out and doing it.

The best way to go out and fight for what you believe in is to be doing something you love or do something that will have an huge impact on someone or something you truly care about. Motivation will come in the beginning but that can only take you so far, it’s the time afterwards where your world is turned upside down and things get tough (as they always do). That is where your courage and determination play a huge part.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work and the only way to do great work is to love what you do”.

Steve Jobs

We can all find a false sense of security doing what everyone else is doing and just getting by. But why should we settle for anything less than the best? Why should anyone wake up in the morning and not be ecstatic about starting their day? Once you find something you love and you are passionate for, you should try to find a way to do more of it and if possible, find a way to get paid to do it. In the UK 47 percent of working professionals want to change jobs (source below, 2015). That shows that people need to make a conscious effort themselves to change their circumstances. A report for the US (source below) shows a staggering 70 percent of Americans are unhappy in their job and is costing the the US Economy around half a billion dollars a year! This is due to active disengagement and that number is ridiculous.

We all deserve better, we just need the courage to go out and get it. The person that is going to suffer the most if you don’t chase your dreams is you. Then there are the people who would benefit from whatever venture it is you are dreaming about. It could be as little as baking your own cakes that aren’t loaded with sugar and other chemicals but still taste great. Looking at that just as it is, doesn’t seem like it would impact a lot of people, but that’s because you are not looking at the bigger picture. Always think big.

Make this year the year of courage, never back down and always strive for success no matter what life throws at you. GSY
